It is an occasion of celebration and joy that is usually hosted by a best friend or family member of the mother-to-be. Historically, it was not proper etiquette for an immediate family member to host a baby showers but in recent years, those traditions have become obsolete and the general practice is to allow anyone who wants to host the shower to do so. The baby shower generally last about two hours and includes games, dessert and the opening of baby shower gifts by the Mother-to-be. Each invited guest is generally expected to bring a baby shower gift for the baby or mother-to-be.
